I'm excited to share in this post some real-time VFX studies I've been working on, inspired by the incredible visual artistry of The Last of Us. Playing through that game for the first time has been, and continues to be, a masterclass in environmental storytelling and detail. I was particularly struck by its stunning water and rain effects. I've since spent some time deconstructing and recreating various elements to better understand their approach, and I'm also looking to share how I went about creating these effects myself.
